We offer strategic, confidential legal advice at all stages of the employment relationship, with cost and value of legal services always in mind. In some cases litigation is necessary, but we can also simply tell you your rights and advise you on how to best enforce those rights on your own.

You may contact us by using our Employment Law Consultation Intake Form.

WorkSafeBC

The Worker’s Compensation scheme can be quite confusing and overwhelming for workers who are experiencing a temporary or permanent disability that prevents them from working. We have experience representing workers in all aspects of the management of claims, appeals at the Review Division and the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Tribunal.  We can assist you in ensuring that you are provided with all your rights and entitlements under the Workers Compensation Act, including receiving appropriate medical care, compensation and rehabilitation. The legal services we provide can be as simple as pointing you in the right direction or reviewing your application, but we can also represent you at all stages of your claim, including WCAT reconsideration or even judicial review.

Privacy Law

We can assist individuals who have concerns about their privacy. Services we offer include negotiating with employers, filing applications under the Privacy Act or Access to Information Act and representing individuals in complaints to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Security Clearances

Since 2009, we have provided advice and assistance to individuals who require security clearances for their work, including airport and marine transportation workers. If your security clearance has been denied or is under review, we can help you determine whether you may be able to obtain or retain your clearance and assist you through the process including the application, review, reconsideration and judicial review stages.

Discrimination

If you have been discriminated against in the workplace on the grounds of gender, disability, race, religion, sexual orientation, age or any other enumerated ground, we can assist you in taking the action necessary to try to remedy the injury to your dignity. We have experience both in labour arbitrations and before the B.C. and Canadian Human Rights Tribunals assisting employees and unions under human rights legislation

Wrongful + Constructive Dismissal

If you have been fired or your employer has fundamentally changed the terms and conditions of your employment, we can help you. You may be entitled to damages from your employer. If your employer has offered to pay you in exchange for a release, we can review the employer’s offer and let you know if it is reasonable or if you may be entitled to more money.
