Rye completed their articles and practiced at a leading labour law firm in Toronto before joining the Victory Square team. They also have experience working in-house at a large public sector union.

Before becoming a lawyer, Rye worked in frontline crisis support roles. This experience has shaped Rye’s legal practice, allowing them to provide clear, confident, and creative advocacy in even the most chaotic contexts.

Rye’s legal practice reflect their diverse interests. In addition to their labour and employment practice, Rye maintains a prison law practice. Drawing on their background as a prisoner rights advocate, Rye assists individuals in seeking remedies for rights violations related to incarceration. Rye also has a developing sport law practice, through which they assist athletes, coaches and sports organizations navigating sports-related issues.

In their spare time, Rye enjoys natural dyeing with indigo and collecting vintage cookbooks.
