Christina Batstone

Christina Batstone (she/her) started working at Victory Square as a Summer Research Assistant in 2019, returned as an Articling Student joined the firm as an Associate in 2021. Christina has a variety of legal experience, including drafting applications and arguments, preparing for arbitrations, and conducting legal research.
Prior to law school, Christina worked as an Advocate and Policy Advisor in post-secondary students’ associations for nine years. She represented students at their institutes’ administrative hearing procedures and supported them to resolve their conflicts with their institutions. During this time, Christina acted as her shop steward, sat on the bargaining committee, and represented her local at a provincial convention.
Prior to her in work in post-secondaries, Christina worked in a Vancouver shelter for women with mental health diagnosis.
Christina completed her Juris Doctor from UBC in 2020, where she received the “Edward Peck Industrial Relations Prize” in Law. While in school, Christina spent a full semester interning at the BC Provincial Court.
Christina is passionate about helping to make workplaces more welcoming for Indigenous people, women, and other traditionally marginalized groups, and protecting the privacy rights of all workers. She is also interested in law reform. Christina looks forward to continuing to work with employees and unions to defend their rights.
Christina lives in East Vancouver with her spouse and their two children. She loves photography, traveling, and decorating cakes.
